Ravenna viso-in-aria

This Ravenna-viso-in-aria edition, more than the previous, comes in a very delicate moment to our community that, after the verdict of the commission for the European City Capital of Culture 2019,  needs a new impulse to continue the road tracked in these seven years of work on the candidacy of  Ravenna as Capital of Culture. Thanks to that road we learned, more than ever, what’s the meaning of watching in the same direction and of building together the future of our land; what has been started is now irreversible and it brings with it an heritage in terms of ideas and people, that permitted to redefine the identity of this city and of  it’s citizens at the light of the changes that we are living and not only on the base of the millenary legacy that characterizes us. The contemporary theatre and the theatrical research in Ravenna are consolidate excellences and are a basic tool to redefine “who are we today”. Therefore I thank Teatro delle Albe, E-production and Cisim for the hard job they did in these years and for their tireless everlasting visions. This Administration has always strongly believed in the power of theatre and has made available, in these years, spaces, resources, in order that the people who work in theatre in the city would be in condition to perform their public role.Ravenna Teatro / Teatro delle Albe, E-production, Lato Oscuro della Costa/Libra prove us, one more time, how much the network make stronger the subjects who work together and permit to share with us pluralistic, complex, inspiring and revolutionary visions.We are, otherwise, in a very delicate phase of the Italian theatre and in the next few months we will be in the middle of a ministerial reform that will reorganize the entire field giving a new order at the theatrical stability and to the research companies and we should pay attention to the investments and the results that we collected since now wich must be defended and strengthened.I wish you a good season and I wish to all of us a VISIONARY future.
